Egemen has been active with numerous Turkish American organizations since he was fifteen. That’s probably why he is the youngest president of the New York based national umbrella organization, Federation of Turkish American Associations (FTAA), and the only FTAA president elected unanimously for two consecutive terms.

Egemen has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Human Resources Management (1993) and a Master of Public Administration degree (1996) both from the Bernard M. Baruch College of the City University of New York. He has his own New York based consulting firm, The Turkish Link, Inc., and he also serves as a senior level linguist. Egemen has served President Clinton, President Bush, President Sezer, Secretaries of State Albright and Powell and many other high level government leaders as an interpreter. He has also accompanied President Clinton and Secretary of State Powell during their official visits to Turkey.Egemen is a member of the Advisory Board of Turkish Citizens living outside of Turkey which is headed by Turkish Minister of State H.E. Sukru Sina Gurel.

Egemen is married to Beyhan and they have a son named Egehan.
