Born in Istanbul in 1965, Tuluyhan Ugurlu started studying piano at 4 years old. He was taught by Necla Tiner
and Cemal Resit Rey. Being successful in the ‘Genious Kids Competition’ when he was 7, Ugurlu obtained the
right to go abroad for academic music education with a state scholarship. After graduating from high school
and Municipal Conservatory in Istanbul, he entered Vienna Music Academy. Completing his education there on
piano and composition as well as master’s and doctoral degree, Ugurlu concentrated on ethnical classical new
age and started performing his own works at his concerts.
While creating works on ‘the universe & faith’ , Ugurlu gave improvisation concerts in many reputable cultural
centers of the world accompanied by photos taken from NASA & European Observatories. The artist has become
international with his albums Go With God, Verses From Holy Books 1 & 2 in which he performed episodes on the
universe from the three holy books.
In Turkey Tuluyhan Ugurlu became famous with the soundtrack album of ‘Istanbul Beneath My Wings’. Following
this work he composed ‘Mustafa Kemal Ataturk And The Soldiers Of The Sun’ for the 75th Anniversary Celebrations
of the Republic. This album was performed on stage at almost 100 concerts and the CD of this work was
sponsored by Profilo-Bosch.
His last album is ‘The Tears Of The City/A Brief History Of Duzce’ composed after the big earthquake which hit
Duzce on November 12th, 2000.
Among his last works are the Ottoman Symphony and The Temples Of The Holy East. The artist has been performing
these compositions on stage at his concerts.Preparations for CD recordings continue.
