Welcome to Sons of Ataturk

July 13, 2002

Dear Sons of Ataturk:

After the success of Daughters of Ataturk, so many of you wrote and requested that we start a Sons of Ataturk. Hence Sons of Ataturk was founded in memory of Seref Karaoglu to promote International Turkish men and foreign spouses of Turkish women in April 2000 to promote a greater appreciation of Turks everywhere and is dedicated to the Turkish Republic’s first president, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and to his ideals through public relations and education.

Seref Karaoglu was a true son of Ataturk who advocated throughout his life education and equality. His beliefs and ideas were reinforced as the Turkish Republic matured and took her rightful place in the world. His vision honored and affirmed the value and indispensability of the reforms of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. I take great pride in Seref Karaoglu’s achievements and accomplishments, his endless translations and quotations from books he had read, his love for opera, soccer, sailing, for Latin and Ottoman Turkish calligraphy and books.

The vision for this website is to create a forum for prominent International Turks and as we are based in the United States for Turkish Americans.

Please feel free to write to us with your ideas so that we can make the website better. You will find biographies of our members, famous historical Turks, and a section for posting job openings and/or resumes of those who are looking for work.

We would like Sons of Ataturk through your work and this website elevated to national and international prominence.

Sincerely,

Sema Karaoglu, Founder
